As I have mentioned before, I grew up a geek. My parents fueled the fire when I was twelve years old, and I continue to add things to the bonfire. I have dabbled in many different realms of the computer world and am always looking to find new and interesting things to incorporate into my repertoire.Below are some examples of work I have done in the different realms of graphic design, web design, customer support and general computer work. I am most proud of the web design examples and graphic design examples, because I think that is truly my love at this stage in my life. I hope you enjoy the work I am presenting here and, as always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Here are some of the sites of which I am most proud. I believe in clean design, fast-loading graphics, good content, and working closely with clients to ensure they are getting what they want. That's the great thing about web design: going from A to Z with a client, knowing that you were the creator of their vision. You may click on any of the thumbnail pictures to take you to the site (it will open in a new window).

Business Builder Seminars This is a recent site I created for the Director of Media Effectiveness at QwestDex / Dex Media. They needed a professional website created quickly to allow people to register for the seminars at which Frank Rowan speaks, but it also needed to be expandable. I delivered the initial site within about 4-5 days, and am currently maintaining the site, adding and deleting registration pages. I was also fortunate to work with some streaming video on here, as well.

Kelly David Kelly David is a local Denver musician. His work is ambient, dark, and tribal, which I really enjoy, so creating his website was a dream come true. Kelly worked with Steve Roach, an infamous ambient artist, to create "Broken Voyage," and the website was built to reflect the tone of that CD. |

Dine In Delivery - North Denver Another site that needed to be live in a short amount of time, Dine In Delivery approached me because they needed a site quickly due to an article that was coming out in the paper regarding their restaurant delivery service. I revamped and cleaned up their content all within a span of 5-6 days. I used some simple color theory on the site by using the red, orange and yellow colors, which tend to make people think about food. The client loved it and I was awarded their content maintenance as well. If you need great restaurant food delivered to your door, definitely give them a call! |

Metro Fence Company Metro Fence Company has been serving the Colorado front range's fencing needs since 1985, specializing in commercial fencing projects like ball fields, WalMarts, parking structures, and gate systems. While it is still a "work-in-progress," I am very proud of the site and want to show it off here. |

OPUS Interactive This is one of the latest projects that I have been involved with. OPUS Interactive is an E-Mail consortium group that creates very targeted e-mail campaigns with their huge database of opt-in demographics. I worked with the person who created their print materials, and gave the website a similar look and feel.
Note: OPUS was recently bought and the site closed. Clicking the image will take you to a mirror of the site on my development server. |

OPUS Select OPUS Select is the consumer site for OPUS Interactive. The site allows users to opt-in and opt-out of the database, which provides excellent offers and opportunities for the users.
Note: OPUS was recently bought and the site closed. Clicking the image will take you to a mirror of the site on my development server. |

CFS of Colorado CFS of Colorado was the agency I went through when I was working contract jobs. Kiley Barwinske is my agent and friend that I have known since High School (we are both alums of Denver Christian High School, 1989). He approached me a couple of years ago and asked me to re-vamp their website.
Note: due to downsizing of the company, CFS' IT group was closed, and the site removed, as well. Clicking on the photo will take you to my development server where I was allowed to put a copy of the site up for my portfolio. |

QwestDex.com Portfolio of Sites At QwestDex, I worked with the other members of the creative team, and we revamped the portfolio page for our group. We are constantly adding new sites to the portfolio, and developing the "Sites By Heading" area, as well. I did a lot of the graphic design and most of the coding for the pages.

Adams County Economic Development (ACED) ACED is a government group that asked me to put together a website to showcase the county. The content is pretty dry, but it is very useful to companies looking to move or build their business in Adams County. I took their old site and gave it a clean, fresh look. They were very happy with the results, and so am I. |

Heron Lakes Golf Course Rated as one of Golf Digest's 75 Most Popular Golf Courses, Heron Lakes is located near Portland, Oregon. My friend Rick Smith (of Shuck Comics fame) created the initial look and feel, and I built the site out. It was a great collaboration, and the client really enjoyed the final product.

Kokoro Japanese Restaurants I have been eating at Kokoro for nearly 15 years. They offer quick, healthy Japanese food which is outstanding. So, when Kokoro asked QwestDex to build them a site, I asked to be assigned, since I was such a fan. I tried to keep the feel of their restaurants in the site design, and I personally went to each of the locations, shooting pictures for the locations page. Definitely check out their food!

Siegel, Barnett & Schutz, L.L.P. Siegel, Barnett & Schutz, L.L.P. is one of the largest and oldest law firms in South Dakota, with offices in Aberdeen and Sioux Falls. They are a general practice, full service law firm. They needed a redesign of their old site, so I gave them a nice, clean look and feel, while keeping the professional atmosphere.

Meland Plastic Surgery Clinic Dr. Meland had an existing site, but the content was stale, the pictures were old, and the whole thing needed a serious facelift. I took the old site and gave it a complete overhaul. The final site is cleaner, more professional and softer, which everyone at the clinic enjoyed.

The Clinic For Women The client wanted a feminine, yet professional business-like look to their site, and needed it quickly since their print ad was going to be delivered within a week or two. I created a soft, inviting, professional look and incorporated their rose logo from their print ad. Currently, this is only a one-page site, but they are planning on adding several more pages down the road.

Electronic Transmissions Electronic Transmissions has been serving the greater Albuquerque area with more than 30 years experience. The customer needed a website built and live within 6 days. They wanted it professional and clean, and giving visitors enough information about the different transmissions they sell, which I was able to deliver.

Aden Industries Mold remediation is not the most fun topic to talk about, but it's very important to building contractors and people whose houses have an unwelcome amount of mold in them. I tracked down some good content on mold and used them in the tips on the side, which compliments the rest of the content on the website. Aden Industries is located in Denver, CO

Leaves In Bags System This site came through a good friend of mine who said that a friend and business colleague of hers had need for a brochure-type site to showcase a new product he had created. I came up with a green theme and went with it. I think the results are good on this one, as well.
Note: This site was taken down a few months ago. Somebody stole the URL out from under the original owner. Got to love cyber-jerks. Clicking the image will take you to my development server mirror of the site. |

MylesBecker.com My own personal site that is going through a remodeling right now. After months, nay, years, I have finally updated the site to a new layout. I like it, but need to really dig in and build up the content. Between work, side gigs, and my new baby, it's kind of hard to find time to do my own site. But, ask any freelance web developer and they will all tell you that their site is the first to get neglected! |

Fivehole Design Studios This is the website of my side web design business that I have with a friend of mine, Jason. We created the company back in '96 and have done several sites for companies and organizations. It is also a venue for us to do computer consulting and odd jobs throughout the IT industry. One day, we hope to make it a full-time job, but for now, we are just happy to have some fun extra projects. |

Alexandria Grace Becker's Website Yes, because her dad is an über geek, he went and created a website to chronicle her life, at least until she gets old enough to tell me not to! Allie was born on June 21, 2002 at 7:10 p.m. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. and is doing great. I need to update this more often, but it's a good start to show you what an adorable little girl I have! |

I am also very proud of some of the things I have accomplished in the realm of Graphic Design. Most of the Graphic Design work I do goes right into the websites I create, but I have dabbled in other things as well, such as logos, CD covers, windows backgrounds, "skins" for programs, and other miscellaneous things. You can click on any of the thumbnails to get a bigger version of the item.

Pink Floyd - EdgeWall CD Cover EdgeWall is a group of friends that get together each month and showcase a musical artist. Everyone involved picks their top 20 songs, then weighs them, and the songs with the most weight go on the CD. One person is in charge of the album cover, and one for the liner notes. I did the cover for the Pink Floyd by taking a picture I had shot while in London of the old Battersea Power Station (from the cover of their album, "Animals"), then did some photomanipulation to give it a art-deco poster look. |
Nine Inch Nails - EdgeWall CD Cover Another EdgeWall production I was involved in. I did both the cover art and the liner notes on this one. I use some fun text shadowing and the cover uses a great, dark picture of Trent Reznor, which fit so well with the CD. For NIN fans, I added "Halo 2000" to the bottom, near my name, as a tribute to NIN's album numbering system. |
Rush - EdgeWall CD Cover This is one of the more recent EdgeWall CDs that I was involved with. As Rush fans will know, the band has a special connection to the number 3, so I incorporated that into this cover. I also wanted the title to be left open to interpretation. I think this is one of my favorite album covers that I have created to date. |
Rush - EdgeWall CD Cover - Version 2 I took my original concept and tweaked it just a little bit. On one of their retrospective CDs, they had a picture of a white canvas with a red, blue and green swatch of color on it. So, I took those colors and applied it to the "floating" images. I think it was a good touch. |
Styx - EdgeWall CD Cover One of my favorite EdgeWall productions that I was involved in. I did both the cover art and the liner notes on this one. I had found some pictures of the original Paradise Theatre (also the name of one of Styx's albums) which was built in Chicago back in the 1920s. I took a collage of those images, as well as some mocked-up articles from Chicago papers to create a throwback album cover. |

Ron Montoya Designs - Website Splash Page Ron Montoya Designs approached QwestDex and asked if we could just create a one-page site that would have their contact info on it, as well as something nice to look at. Since they are an architectural firm, I created blueprint-looking image, and then morphed it into a photo of a house. |

Planet Spacescape 1 Fiddling around with Photoshop is a big pastime of mine. I created this scene with a few different filters and some creative playing. I think it turned out pretty good. If you'd like to use it as your wallpaper, just right-click on it and choose "set as wallpaper." |
Planet Spacescape 2 Again, just some more playing in Photoshop to create this one as well. I wanted to create a more realistic moon in this one. It's o.k., but I'll have to keep working on it. Again, please feel free to set it as your wallpaper. |

I am very proud of the accomplishments I have made in the realm of customer-centric service over the past ten years or so. I have received several awards from employers that I would like to share with you here.
Children's World Learning Centers / ARAMARK Educational Resources 1995 - Outstanding Customer Service and Field Support This award was given to me after only my second year of working with the home office and field center office personnel in my duties as Fleet Administrator. Also during my tenure at CWLC, I always had higher than average marks for customer support at both the home office and the field centers. I am very proud of the work I did while I was at Children's World and I believe it was reflected in my work and the praise of my co-workers.
Great-West Life & Annuity February 1999 - Senior Client Support Specialist After working only a year and a half in the BenLink (benefits software) department, I was promoted to Senior Client Support Specialist. This promotion came due to the numerous good feedback from clients, both internal and external, and having higher-than-average marks for service throughout my time there.
MatchLogic, Inc. April 2001 - Excellence in Customer-Centric Model Based on comments that my manager received from several outside clients and my peers inside the company, was given this award along with a pewter and crystal paperweight.
